Who We Are

The International Animal Assistance Network (IAAN) is a group of animal grantmaking foundations, international animal welfare support organizations and veterinary assistance organizations.  We share a commitment to direct our resources and expertise to issues of animal welfare in developing countries and other countries that have underdeveloped systems for animal welfare and protection.   Scroll to the bottom to see a list of our Member Organizations or view detailed Member Profiles.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support a closer working relationship among grantmaking foundations, animal welfare support organizations and veterinary assistance organizations that work internationally. Through collaboration and the sharing of knowledge, we seek to effect positive change in the welfare of animals throughout the world.

Our Goals

• To support communication and collaboration among our members through an interactive website.
• To facilitate the exchange of information about the performance of locally-based animal protection societies supported by our members. 
• To share information about effective approaches and model programs to improve animal welfare.
• To increase awareness in the animal funding community of the need for increased attention and resources in countries with underdeveloped systems for animal welfare and protection. 
• To build our capacity to address animal welfare issues in a holistic manner, recognizing that these challenges are connected to issues of economics, culture, education, and the environment.
